Animate a photo into a video that talks

A still photo becomes a moving clip: the head turns, the expression shifts, and if you supply an audio track the mouth follows it. One photo is the entire input. The animate-photo tool in the Studio is built for exactly this and asks for nothing else.

How photo animation works here

1

Upload the photo

One image, as sharp and well-lit as you can manage, with the face clearly visible and facing the camera. Resolution matters more than styling — a crisp phone snapshot beats a soft studio portrait.

2

Add audio, or don't

Attach a voice track and the animation is driven by it, so the lips match what is being said. Leave it out and you get motion without speech. You can also write a short prompt describing what should happen in the shot.

3

Get the clip

Five seconds is the default length and you can go longer. The result arrives as a vertical MP4 in your Library, ready to post or to drop into a longer edit.

What to expect from the result

Priced by the second

The tool quotes the credit cost before you run it — 4 credits per second of video at 720p on the default model. A five-second clip is 20 credits, which is exactly what the $0.99 first-video unlock grants you.

Lip-sync comes from your audio

There is no text-to-speech step you have to fight with: you bring the audio you want and the mouth follows it, so the voice is whatever you recorded or generated elsewhere.

The photo does the heavy lifting

Most disappointing results trace back to the input — a blurry, tiny, heavily filtered or three-quarter-angle photo gives the model less to work with. Swapping the source image fixes more problems than any prompt.

It is one of several tools

If what you actually want is yourself inside a described scene, or the same photo carrying a whole Reel, those are different tools in the same Studio and the Director will point you at the right one.

First video
$0.99

Unlocks 20 credits — enough for a 5-second clip at 4 credits per second at 720p.

After that
from $14.9/mo

Starter is 140 credits a month. One-off packs start at $10 for 50 credits — no subscription required.

Subscription credits refresh every month and don't roll over. Credits from a top-up pack stay in your account for 90 days from purchase. Credits are spent per second of video generated, and every tool quotes its cost before it runs, so a generation is never a surprise. If a generation fails on our side the credits return to your balance automatically.

Top-up credits last 90 days from purchase.

What this does not do

  • It does not generate the voice for you inside this tool. Bring an audio file if you want speech.
  • It does not turn a group photo into a scene. The tool is built around one clearly visible face.
  • It will not animate a photo of someone who has not agreed to it. Use your own likeness or one you have permission to use.
  • If a generation fails on our side, the credits go back to your balance automatically — you do not have to ask.
FAQ

Common questions

What kind of photo works best?
One sharp, well-lit, front-facing portrait where the face fills a good part of the frame. Avoid heavy filters, motion blur and extreme angles — those cost you more quality than any setting can recover.
Can the photo lip-sync to my voice?
Yes. Attach an audio track and the animation is driven by it, so the mouth follows the words. Without an audio track you get movement but no speech.
How long can the clip be?
Five seconds is the default and you can request more. Cost scales with length — 4 credits per second at 720p on the default model — and the tool shows the total before you run it.
How much does it cost to try?
Signing up is free. The first generated video is unlocked for $0.99, which puts 20 credits on your balance — enough for a five-second clip at 720p.
How many photos do I need?
One, for this tool. A different tool — putting yourself inside a scene you describe — takes several photos and holds the person consistent across the shot.
