Looking for a HeyGen alternative? Here is what we do differently
HeyGen is a strong avatar and translation product, and if what you need is a corporate talking head reading a script, it does that well. AutoHustle is built around a different starting point: a Reel you want to repeat, or a scene you want to be in, with your own face. This page lays out the differences we can actually stand behind.

How AutoHustle starts a video
One photo, no avatar session
Your avatar comes from a single portrait. There is no recording session, no green screen, no consent-video step and no waiting for an avatar to be built before you can make anything.
A link is a valid input
Paste a public Reel and the autopilot reads the source video, plans the scenes and rebuilds it with you in it. The input is a video that already works, not a script you have to write first.
You pay for seconds, not seats
Generation is billed in credits per second. The first video is unlocked for $0.99, and after that a subscription and one-off credit packs both exist — you are not forced onto a monthly plan to generate anything at all.
Where the two products genuinely diverge
Script-first versus source-first
Avatar platforms are built around text: you write a script, an avatar reads it. AutoHustle's flagship path is a video edit — the pacing and the movement come out of the Reel you pasted, which is a different job with a different output.
Many models behind one job
We do not run a single house model. Each job is routed to whichever model in our catalogue is currently best at it, and every model has a public page with its own credit price. You pick the job; the routing is our problem.
Re-voicing is a tool, not the product
We do translate and re-voice video with matching lip movement, and it is one tool among several rather than the centre of the product. If translation is the only thing you need, a dedicated translation product may well suit you better — that is a fair reason to choose one.
Social-first output
What comes back is a vertical 9:16 MP4, sized for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, waiting in your Library. No re-export, no editor.
Side by side
| AutoHustle | Typical AI avatar platform | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting input | A link to a public Reel, a photo, or a written scene | Usually a written script the avatar reads |
| Avatar setup | One portrait photo, free, reusable across every video | Commonly a recorded consent or training session before a custom avatar exists |
| How you pay | Credits per second. $0.99 first video, then a plan or one-off packs | Commonly a monthly seat plan with a video or minute allowance |
| Model choice | A public catalogue of models, each with its own page and credit price | Usually one in-house model, not named or priced separately |
| Recreating an existing video | The flagship path — paste the link, keep the pacing, change the face | Not typically the product's centre of gravity |
| Translation and lip-sync | Yes, as one tool in the Studio | Often a headline feature and a mature one |
| Posting to your accounts | Never — we hold no social credentials | Varies by product |
The right-hand column describes what tools in this category commonly do — it is not a quote from any one vendor's current price sheet, and we deliberately do not restate competitors' prices, because a figure that goes stale on a page like this is worse than no figure. Check their site for today's numbers. Everything in the AutoHustle column is what our product does today.
$0.99 to start, then credits
Creating an account, building your avatar and analysing a Reel cost nothing and need no card.
Unlocks 20 credits — enough for a 5-second clip at 4 credits per second at 720p.
Starter is 140 credits a month. One-off packs start at $10 for 50 credits — no subscription required.
Subscription credits refresh every month and don't roll over. Credits from a top-up pack stay in your account for 90 days from purchase. Credits are spent per second of video generated, and every tool quotes its cost before it runs, so a generation is never a surprise. If a generation fails on our side the credits return to your balance automatically.
Top-up credits last 90 days from purchase.
When HeyGen is the better pick
- You need a large library of ready-made stock presenters. We have none — the face on camera comes from a photo you supply and have the right to use.
- Translation is your single primary job. We re-voice video with matching lip movement, but it is one tool here rather than a mature product built around that one workflow.
- You need enterprise workflow features — SSO, team seats, brand kits, approval chains. AutoHustle is a single-user studio and does not pretend otherwise.
- You want a script-to-video pipeline where written copy is the input. Our flagship path starts from a source video instead, which is a genuinely different tool.
